Aaaand she is getting her first tooth! It's just busting through, I'll post some pics as soon as it is visible. Goodbye adorable gummy smile, my girl is growing up!
It's a big week all around.
Last night was the season two premiere, it was AWESOME!!! (Very Hollywood-y, red carpet-alicious! We had no idea it would be such a big event, the show is definitely getting more attention these days! It was truly thrilling, although I don't know if it will ever sink in that all this stuff is really happening, its so surreal. I'm doing my best to relish every moment!) We were so lucky to have our good friends Alex, Emily, Abby and Andy along for the night. It was a great party.
Hooooray for MAD MEN and its' 16 Emmy Nominations!!! Wooohoooo!
(Does that mean I get to go to the Emmys??? Aaaahhhhh! I think it does I think it does!!!!!)
And Congratulations to my lovely wonderful bestest bestest EMILY who recently got ENGAGED!!!
She will be the most beautiful bride ever. Her Alex is one lucky man!
Last week we took Beatrice to Minnesota for her Baptism. It was absolutely beautiful. We were lucky to have Fr. Brown, one of the officiants from our wedding, perform the ceremony in the same church where were married. It certainly took us back. He is wonderful!
Her Godparents did a great job too, they are very responsible.
I think Bea was pretty happy about the whole thing.
We were blessed to be sorrounded by so many loving family members and friends.
We took Beatrice down to the pool today.
She had her very first swim.
I did what I swore I would never do as a mother...I had her swim with a t-shirt on. When I was little Mom always made me put a t-shirt over my swimsuit so I wouldn't get a sunburn, I HATED IT. But today as I was getting Bea ready for the pool and sunscreening her up, I looked at her perfect skin and I caved. I couldn't bring her into the pool without some extra cover! Ah, the circle of life. (I've got to get her one of those baby swimsuits with the hottest new design: SLEEVES!)
My brother Patrick was here for 3 weeks and we barely saw him! He was working as a P.A. on the show and worked all day and all night (for real, like 18 hour days). He learned how to drive on the scary LA freeways in the middle of the night/wee hours of the morning, wore through some shoes, slept on the couch, used a lot of sunscreen (Mom), drank a lot of cokes, did a great job at his job and hopefully had a good time. We will miss him, his empty coke cans and his dirty socks on the living room floor.
We took him to a farewell dinner at Benihana last night for exotic Japanese dishes/a dazzling chef performance, also a Mai Tai served in a ceramic Geisha...it was awesome.
Also-
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!!
Here's to my hubby, the official Best New Dad of 2007-2008!
Bea and I are lucky girls, we both have wonderful Dads.
My Baby Bea got her very first helmet this week (for more information regarding the reason for the helmet check out Rich's blog). She is a trooper. She sleeps and eats and plays in her new spaceman hat and barely even notices it. The helmet has sparked many new nicknames for my girl, as if she needed more. Here are some of the greatest hits:
Darth Helmet
Spaceball
Dr. Spaceman (pronounced spa-che-men from 30 Rock)
Bobblehead Joe
Space Noodle
Hemethead
Super Girl
Her real name is my favorite though. Beatrice means Bringer of Joy. Bea does just that. She is the sweetest, happiest, funniest little girl. I don't know when I've laughed so hard or been so happy. She is an amazing gift in my life, and I love her more than I can even fathom.
